very convenient position: only 50 mt from the central square in the old town!
room too cold, radiators switched off
Right in the very center of one of the most beautiful town in Europe yet very quite and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good.
Location was excellent. Breakfast excellent. After our initial problem with the size and status of our room, the staff took immediate action to rectify this and our upgraded suite was delightful and very comfortable. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff involved.
The classification of rooms clearly varies significently. We booked as a result of a very good recommendation by our daughter . We were not looking for the cheapest most basic accomodation and I think we should have been made aware of the different grades of rooms. The room 203,is very small and the bathroom totally lacking anywhere to hang a towel or place toiletries. For a a four night stay ,far too basic.
I have been booking with Booked.net various times and always found I could rely on the reviews and description. In this case I could not. I booked the hotel as I wanted airconditioning in the room but they put us in a room where the aircon was broken and they knew. The breakfast is ok but definitely not in line with the description and ratings. The staff is friendly, struggling with the management that doesn't want to repair or renovate the hotel it seems and the location is really great. After complaining they put us in a better room with a working airconditioning the second night so the staff really tried to accommodate us.
The Mechants House Hotel fulfilled all expectations. A superb central location, rooms of impeccable design and cleanliness and friendly reception staff.
Beautiful conversion and very helpful staff. Nice breakfast in gorgeous cellar.
Very little to find fault with...paving in the courtyard had suffered in the winter frosts, but as the snow had only just melted it's not as if they'd had much time to sort it out!
The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. The location was excellent and, considering how close to the main square it was, the hotel was generally very quiet. The provision of a sauna was also a weclome addition after a long day walking the streets of Tallinn.
The room I had (109) was ground floor and in the courtyard and suffered with noise of other guests walking through to their rooms.
hotel has a lovely atmosphere - the restaurant in the basement has character.
I have nothing good to say about my stay in this hotel
Staff were not at all helpful, room was badly positioned and floor was always dirty, room was generally not as good as was described and overall my stay here was not an enjoyable one
The location was very good. We were allocated a beautiful room at the top of the hotel, unfortunately I had hurt my back and the staff went out of there way to get me a room lower down. This again was a lovely room. The food was excellent one of the best breakfast we have had in a hotel.
Very central location in the old town. Staff very friendly and helpfull. We liked the fact that a lot of the original features had been kept in the hotel.
The bed in room 205 in a tight recess - a bit on the small side for a double. Breakfast buffet could be hotter.
The hotel is perfectly located --- 5 meters away from the central square. There is free internet and the rooms are big enough.
The hotel is probably overpriced given the service they provide --- very much still needs to be done to make it a really cozy place.
The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the bathroom very modern and attractive. The weather had been hot before I arrived and the staff had thought to place a fan in the room and turn it on. The bedroom was quiet, as requested.
I thought the breakfasts were very poor for this standard of hotel. The juice, croissants and jam were horrible. I dislike calling a waitress every time I need a cup of coffee; a pot should be left on each table.
My suite was beautiful with sauna included and very clean.
all good, but coffee/tea in the room would be also nice. everything else was great.
Well located for major tourist attractions; also conveniently located for city trams. All staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. Our ground floor room (111) was very easily accessible and windows opened onto attractive courtyard.
